MR355R Features
35 Mile Range
The MR355R, under ideal conditions, gives you a range of up to 35 miles. Conditions vary with geography and other variables.
22 Channels With 8 Repeater Channels
Starting with the same 22 channels as the MR350, the MR355R adds 8 built-in repeater channels, which can work with a local repeater station to carry your signal further. Take advantage of this value-added feature by switching to GMRS channels 15R-22R, but don’t forget you’ll need a GMRS license and an accessible repeater station to take advantage.
Emergency Alert Button
When the alert button is activated, the radio transmits an alert siren followed by transmission of spoken or incidental sounds. This allows you to send the signal to other radios and warn of impending danger.
Keypad Lock
Lock your keypad to avoid accidentally changing your radio settings.
Channel Scan
Use scan to search the 22 channels for transmissions from unknown parties, to find someone in your group who has accidentally changed channels, or to quickly find unused channels for your own use.

Interference Eliminator Codes help minimize interference by blocking transmissions from unknown sources. The MR355R features 121 codes for superior interference protection.
Ten Call Tones (Five Standard, Five Animal Sounds)
The MR355R can transmit different call tones to other radios in your group so you can alert them that you want to talk. You can also add stealth and fun to your outdoor adventure by masking your radio’s normal ring tone under the guise of a quacking duck, a cackling goose, a gobbling turkey, a bugling elk or a howling coyote. Hands-Free Communication

QT (Quiet Talk) Noise Filtering

A call tone and roger beep helps you know when transmissions to and from someone are beginning or ending. The GMR1635-2 features both, and you can turn the roger beep off if you’d prefer.

AAA Battery Power With Automatic Power Save
GMR1635-2 radios are powered by three AAA batteries, and features a unique circuit designed to dramatically extend battery life. If there are neither transmissions nor incoming calls for 2 seconds, the radio switches to Power Save mode. The radio is still able to receive transmissions in this mode.
In addition, the radio features a battery strength meter, to show you when it’s time to charge.
Wide 16-Mile Range
Use the radios when camping, hiking, hunting, or even for keeping in contact with another person in town. The GMR1635-2 radios offer plenty of options with a range of up to 16 miles. (As with all GMRS radios, you’ll get more range in open terrain than in areas with many high buildings.)
Finding Channels
The GMR1635-2 radio boasts a channel scan feature that lets you easily scan all 22 channels (15 GMRS, 7 FRS). When an active channel is detected, the unit pauses on that channel until the channel is clear. After a two-second delay, the radio will continute scanning. Pressing the PTT (aka Push to Transmit) button while the scan is paused on a channel will allow you to transmit on that channel.
Note: License Required
Note that the GMR1635-2 radios operate on the General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) frequencies, which require a Federal Communications Commission License to operate. For licensing information and application forms call (800) 418-3676 or (888) 225- 5322. No license is required for operating FRS channels 8-14 or any channel in Canada.

22 Channels and a 22-Mile Range
The GMR2240 boasts 22 channels, including 7 FRS and 15 GMRS channels, along with 121 privacy codes to help reduce interference from other users. A channel scan feature lets you easily scan all 22 channels for activity, pausing on each active channel for two seconds. You can also monitor a single channel for any signals.
Weather Radio, Weather Resistance
The inclusion of NOAA weather radio lets you access local weather conditions, forecasts, and hazard information, so you’re always on top of whatever mother nature dishes out.
The GMR2240 is also enclosed in a weather resistant shell to protect it from splashing water, which makes it a great choice for outdoor use.
Rechargeable NiMH Batteries
These radios are powered by included NiMH battery packs. The included charging kit keeps your radio ready for action, and a battery strength meter lets you know when it’s time to charge them back up. Add Uniden’s DC-1002 adapter for easy charging in your vehicle.
Plenty of Convenience
The GMR2240 is an intuitive, easy-to-use radio, with features to keep things seamless. A keypad lock feature locks in key functions so they aren’t accidentally changed. A headset jack allows you to listen to radio chatter from your VOX or PTT-type headset (not included) when you’re trying not to scare away your prized prey, and the included belt clips keep your radios right at your side, for hands-free operation.
For transmitting/receiving, you can choose between five call tones to sound when calling each other, and the roger beep feature lets others know when you finish speaking.

Note that the GMR2240-2 radios operate on the General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) frequencies, which require a Federal Communications Commission License to operate.
