Whether you’re out on a hike, hunt, or even out with the family, the GMR1235-2 radios will keep you connected to your crew. The GMR1235-2 radios feature 22 channels you can use to talk to others, along with a 12-mile range, so you can cover a lot of area.
A call tone and roger beep helps you know when transmissions to and from someone are beginning or ending. The GMR1235-2 features both, and you can turn the roger beep off if you’d prefer.
The GMR1235-2 is equipped with an automatic squelch system, which shuts off weak transmissions and unwanted noise caused by terrain conditions or reaching your your range limit.
GMR1235-2 radios are powered by three AAA batteries, and features a unique circuit designed to dramatically extend battery life. If there are neither transmissions nor incoming calls for 2 seconds, the radio switches to Power Save mode. The radio is still able to receive transmissions in this mode.
In addition, the radio features a battery strength meter, to show you when it’s time to charge.
Use the radios when camping, hiking, hunting, or even for keeping in contact with another person in town. The GMR1235-2 radios offer plenty of options with a range of up to 12 miles. (As with all GMRS radios, you’ll get more range in open terrain than in areas with many high buildings.)
The GMR1235-2 radio boasts a channel scan feature that lets you easily scan all 22 channels (15 GMRS, 7 FRS). When an active channel is detected, the unit pauses on that channel until the channel is clear. After a two-second delay, the radio will continute scanning. Pressing the PTT (aka Push to Transmit) button while the scan is paused on a channel will allow you to transmit on that channel.
Note that the GMR1235-2 radios operate on the General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) frequencies, which require a Federal Communications Commission License to operate. For licensing information and application forms call (800) 418-3676 or (888) 225- 5322.

35 Mile Range

Take advantage of this value-added feature by switching to GMRS channels 15R-22R, but don’t forget you’ll need a GMRS license and an accessible repeater station to take advantage.
Emergency Alert Button
When the alert button is activated, the radio transmits an alert siren followed by transmission of spoken or incidental sounds. This allows you to send the signal to other radios and warn of impending danger.
Keypad Lock
Lock your keypad to avoid accidentally changing your radio settings.
Channel Scan

Ten Call Tones (Five Standard, Five Animal Sounds)
The MR355R can transmit different call tones to other radios in your group so you can alert them that you want to talk. You can also add stealth and fun to your outdoor adventure by masking your radio’s normal ring tone under the guise of a quacking duck, a cackling goose, a gobbling turkey, a bugling elk or a howling coyote. You will find this a helpful way to blend into the untamed habitat of the wild.
Hands-Free Communication
Use the iVOX feature to transmit hands-free without the need for any headset accessories. Once iVOX is turned on, the radio detects your voice and transmits when you speak into the internal microphone.
QT (Quiet Talk) Noise Filtering
The QT noise-filtering feature helps to ensure uninterrupted communication with other Motorola radios, filtering out unwanted transmissions from other radios. This is useful in places where there is heavy radio traffic, such as amusement parks or ski resorts.
Talk Confirmation (Roger Beep) Alert

Flashlight

Skiers and winter sports adventurists will appreciate the new design that features extra large buttons making it easier than ever to operate with gloves.
VibraCall
For quiet adventures or when ringing is intrusive, the VibraCall feature can be enabled to silently alert users to incoming transmissions.
